In the latest episode of the ABC hit show What Would You Do?, restaurant patrons were tested when they saw a young gay man being subjected to the homophobic proselytizing of a family pastor.
The video opens on the man confronting his parents about his sexuality at a restaurant in Atlanta.
Even as he insists that he can’t change who he is, they force him to speak to the pastor who tells him, “Son, you’re not gay—you’re sick.”
Over the course of the experiment, several different groups witness the encounter, offering up a diverse array of reactions to the pastor’s vitriol.
Yet as always, the question comes back to the viewer: What would you do?
