New York Uber Driver Locked Male Passenger In Car, Demanded Sex

An Uber driver in New York City allegedly locked a 23-year old passenger in his car and demanded that he perform oral sex on him, authorities said.

Lawrence Murberry,34, was ordered held on $100,000 bail Tuesday for three counts of unlawful restraint in connection to the August 5th incident, the NY Daily News reported.

Murberry was charged in the incident after police stopped his vehicle for a traffic violation last week.

The victim requested an Uber, but his request was somehow deleted, prosecutors said.

The man volunteered to pay for his ride in cash, but Murberry instead demanded oral sex Assistant State’s Attorney Yahem Moro said.

When he refused, Murberry repeatedly locked the car’s doors, the Daily News reported.

He only offered to release him if he agreed to his demand, Moro said.

As the vehicle slowed in traffic, the man was able to escape. He appeared to be uninjured, authorities said.

An Uber spokesman called the rider’s account of what happened “troubling,” according to the Daily News.
