EX Gay Gospel Singer Donnie McClurkin Says He and Fiance Need Counseling Before Getting Married

Donnie McClurkin is one of the most recognizable names – and voices – in Gospel music.

And he has not hidden the fact that he has fought his homosexuality, and he claims, won.

In fact, he is reportedly getting set to marry a woman, Nicole C. Mullen.

However, the singer has come out and admitted that there will be no marriage until the two go through counseling, which will reportedly be with Rev. Doctor A. R. Bernard.

McClurkin, 56, said both he and Mullen, he said, agree on this arrangement.

“Honestly, the only thing in my life that is missing is marriage. The only thing that is missing in my life that can cause real family, is marriage. Financially, I’m there. Spiritually, I’m almost there. Emotionally, I’m getting it together,” told the Christian Post.

He added, “But the only thing that’s missing out of everything that I’m doing locally, cross country and globally is that aspect that makes family, family — is that wife that would make man whole, that element that brings favor to man.”

McClurkin recently told a Praise Network audience that he and Mullen have known each other for 15 years. They had time to chat when they were seated next to each other on a flight to the Ivory Coast. He says they talked for eight hours.

Mullen was previously married to CCM singer/songwriter David Mullen.

McClurkin has never been married..

In a 2002 interview, McClurkin said that due to sexual abuse, he had struggled with homosexuality.

He also said that he has rejected that lifestyle and tried to fight it with prayer.
